End on an E chord or Pree Sister's Swallowing A Donkey's Eye

Crawl across towards your window
I'm calling softly from the street
Always a lonely widow
Half awake and sleeping on my feet
I'm of age but have no children
No quarter phone booth calls to home
Just late-night television
Inside my bedroom all alone

There is no use in waiting
Offer up your steps so I can climb
Show me all your figure paintings
Etched in the middle of the night
Let me stretch upon your carpet
Let me hear the rain tap on your street
Knowing I am safe on the inside
Blankets wrapped and drifting off to sleep

In the middle of a dream i hear you calling
In the middle of a dream i hear you calling

Lyrics:

Crawl across towards your window, I'm calling softly from the street
I'm just a lonely widow, half awake and stranded on my feet
I'm of age but have no children, no quarter phone booth call to home
Just late night television, inside my bedroom all alone.

There is no use in waiting, offer up your steps so I can climb
Show me all your figure paintings, etched in the middle of the night
Let me stretch upon your carpet, let me hear the rain tap on your street
Knowing I am safe on the inside, blankets wrapped and drifting off to sleep.

Outro:

e|------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
D|------0--------0--------0--------0--------|
A|----6---6----4---4----2---2----4---4------|
E|--7--------5--------3--------5------------|
In the middle of a dream I hear you calling....

NOTE: If you play the outro all 3 frets up (with a capo on the 3rd fret) it's the same
the main riff, but the way i have tabbed the main riff here is the only way i can see to
you to play the whole song on guitar, in the right key, without taking the capo off
through. This version sounds right when you play it along with the song, too.

Crawl across towards your window
I'm calling softly from the street
Always a lonely widow
Half awake and sleeping on my feet
I'm of age but have no children
No quarter phone booth calls to home
Just late-night television
Inside my bedroom all alone

There is no use in waiting
Offer up your steps so I can climb
Show me all your figure paintings
Etched in the middle of the night
Let me stretch upon your carpet
Let me hear the rain tap on your street
Knowing I am safe on the inside
Blankets wrapped and drifting off to sleep

In the middle of a dream i hear you calling
In the middle of a dream i hear you calling

version 4

Tuning: normal,
to match the song, you can put a capo on the second fret

repeat this over and over:
e|-----0-------0-------0-------0---|
B|---6---0---4---0---2---2---4---4-|
G|-6-------4-------2-------4-------|
D|---------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------|

play this over the loop above.
listen for how it sounds in the song. this is just a
pretty rough idea of how the intro solo thing goes.
e|-----0---0-2--0---0-------------0-2-4-|
B|-2-4---4--------4---4-2-2--0--2-------|
G|--------------------------------------|
D|--------------------------------------|
A|--------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------|

e|-4\2-0-------0-2-4-7-9-9-12-11-12-14-12-11-12-11-9-11-|
B|-------2-0-2------------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------------------|
D|------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------------------|
E|------------------------------------------------------|

then into the vocal part.
the lyrics of this version are here.

Crawl across towards your window
I'm calling softly from the street
I'm just a lonely widow
Half awake and stranded on my feet
I'm of age but have no children
No quarter phone booth calls to home
Just late night television
Inside my bedroom all alone

There is no use in waiting
Offer up your steps so I can climb
Show me all your figure paintings
Etched in the middle of the night
Let me stretch upon your carpet
Let me hear the rain tap on your street
Knowing I am safe on the inside
Blankets wrapped and drifting off to sleep

there is the end part ("In the middle of a dream I
hear you calling"), where there's a big change in the
scale and such, but I haven't made out the notes.
