version 2

NOTES ABOUT SONG: This is the live version of Rose Colored Stain
Glass Windows that appears on Front Yard Luge. It differs from the
album version primarily in its layering: the electric guitar is much
more prominent live, while the original version (which appeared on
"Never Say Dinosaur") is much more acoustic-natured and even has a
mandolin in the intro. The electric has some pretty heavy distortion
on it, along with some overdrive and a quick wah near the end and the
acoustic has some heavy chorus on it. Also, watch the rhythm in the
acoustic riff-it's slightly different from the original version in
timing and the F in on the d-string comes sooner than expected (listen and
you'll hear it-it's syncopated).

Intro Acoustic riff (used throughout the song):
-----1--0-1-1-----1--0-1-1-1-1--
-----3--3-3-3-----3--3-3-3-3-3--
-----2--2-2-2-----2--2-2-2-2-2--
-0-0---------3-3----------------
--------------------------------
--------------------------------
  Dm Dm/F
*the above is considered one bar of intro riff

The intro comprises of:
2 bars intro acoustic riff
2 bars intro acoustic riff with vocal "na na"s
4 bars intro acoustic riff with vocal "na na"s and electric
strums on Dm (but not on the Dm/F)

VERSE ONE-acoustic plays chords, electric arpeggios
Bb C Dm
Another sleepy Sunday, safe within the walls
Bb C Dm
Outside a dying world in desperation calls
Gm F C Dm
But no one hears the cries, or knows what they're about
Gm Bb F C
The doors are locked within, or is it from without?

For the verses, the electric plays mostly arpeggios with a few
straight
strums. Here's a pretty close tab of what the electric plays:
