La La Lie by Jack's Mannequin

                                      La La Lie

This is a great song to play, easy chords too.
Put a capo on 3 to play in the correct key.

The Chords are:
C: X32010
G: 320003
G/F#: 2X0003 (use your thumb!)
Em: 022000
D: XX0232
Dsus2: XX0230
Dsus2/F#: 2X0230 (use your thumb!)
Am: X02210
And an asterisk (*) next to a chord means add the third fret on high e. So C* would be
of x32010. D* would be xx0233 which is technically called Dsus4, but why more than I
to?

And if you didn't already know, a after a chord means a different bass note. So G/F#
bass is F#, so it's 2X0003 or 220003 if you want.

I'm showing the intro a little more detailed than the rest of the song, but if you can
the intro, you'll get the idea through the rest.

Intro:
C C* C* C*
G G G G/F#
Em Em* Em* Em*
D* D Dsus2 D
C C* C* C*
G G G G/F#
Em Em* Em* Em*
D* D [into verse]

Dsus2 D C G
Guess what, I'm done writing you songs
            G/f# Em
You give up your job at the bank
        D/F# C
Proving money's not fun when you're gone
               G G/f#
So this is the first verse
     Am
It's not very long
        D/F#
But I'm ready to move on

Dsus2 D C G
Guess what, I'm done writing your book
           G/f# Em Em*
The ending got twisted around
        D/F# C
But for all of the hell that it took
               G G/f#
The electrical wires
     Am
Were hung on the walls
       D/F#
In the room that I rent now

                       C C* G
Well actually I've got friends who (la la la lie)
          G/f# Em Em*
Will help me pull through
          D*/F# D/F# Dsus2/F# D/F#
(La la la lie la la lie)
C G G/f#
The spaceman that can't get high
Am D/F#
I'm coming back to my girl by July

Dsus2/F# C G G/f#
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right.

Em Em* Em* Em*
D* D [into verse]

    Dsus2 D C G
So, guess what, I'm done drawing you pictures
          G/f# Em
I'm dulling the day with the drink
     D C
In a parking garage by the theater
               G
We met for the movie
      Am
Every scene was a sign
        D/F
We made out through their meaning

              C C* G
Well I've got friends who (la la la lie)
          G/f# Em Em*
Will help me pull through
          D*/F# D/F# Dsus2/F# D/F#
(la la la lie la la lie)
C G G/f#
A spaceman that can't get high
Am D/F#
I'm coming back to my girl by July
Dsus2/F# C ...
Yeah, yeah, yeah! Yeah!

... C* C* C*
G G G G/F#
Em Em* Em* Em*
D* D Dsus2 D
C C* C* C*
G G G G/F#
Em Em* Em* Em*
D* D [into verse]

Dsus2 D C G
Guess what? I'm done writing you songs
        G/f# Em
I'm far too unstable to settle
  D/F# C
I doubt that the doctors are wrong
                  G
So I'll wait by a palm tree,
G/f# Am D/F# D/F#
A palm tree, a palm tree

     Dsus2/F# C G

(La la la lie la la lie)
C G G/f#
The spaceman that can't get high
Am D/F#
I'm coming back to my girl by July

     Dsus2/F# C G

(La la la lie la la lie)
C G G/f#
The song for a long goodbye
Am D/F#
I'm coming back, I'm coming back
Dsus2/F# C G
to my girl (La la la lie)
