Saddle up, we're calling up the pain
Stilling doubt to single out the strain
You came, you saw, you sawed her brain
You cut out all the parts that held your stain
Still inclined, you're billing wine the blame
She's crying now, you're climbing down your claim
Sitting up, you've counting up your names
Is sin enough to bend 'em off the frame?
You came, you saw, you sawed her brain
You cut out all the parts that held your stain
You clipped, you clawed, to no applause (weigh above)
You lost the will and bought the lye and gauze (weigh apart)
So tried to be somebody
So tried to be somebody (so fly to flee)
So tried to be somebody (so long and leave)
So hard to be somebody
So tried to be somebody (run, you wreck, and then you run) (you wreck, and then you run)
So far to feel somebody (you wreck, and then you run) (you wreck, and then you run)
So tried to be somebody (you wreck, and then you run) (you wreck, and then you run)
So hard to be somebody (you wreck, and then you run)(you wreck, and then you)

Back to Verse pattern:
A A2 A3 A3
Sitting clad, you're feeling wild to blame

A A2 A3 A3
Seen enough to bend him off the frame

Bridge Pattern:

You came, you saw, you sawed her brain,
You cut out all the parts that held your stain
You clipped, you clawed, to no applause
You lost the will and bought the dying cause

Verse Pattern:

A A2 A3 A3
    So try to be somebody
    So try to feel somebody
    So try to leave somebody
So hard to be somebody, but-

(you wreck, and then you run) Repeat

So try to be somebody
So try to feel somebody
So try to leave somebody
So hard to be somebody... (rinse and repeat as long as you want.

IMPORTANT: Do not feel the need to follow this pattern throughout the entire song. If
you do it will become boring and less interesting. As long as you keep the bass notes in
the right place you can do pretty much anything you want as long as you stay within the
chord and pick in time. Have fun!

version 3

Tuning:E A D G B E
Capo:no capo
-Standard Tuning.
-Capo on the first fret.
-Tab is relative to Capo.

-"<" means added emphasis on the note.

The whole song revolves around the A chord. Here are the five variations he uses.
(I don't actually know the chord names, so I'm just notating them as A1, A2, A3, A4, and A5.)

   A1 A2 A3 A4 A5

e|-0-----|-0-----|-0-----|-0-----|-0-----|
B|-2-----|-2-----|-2-----|-2-----|-2-----|
G|-2-----|-2-----|-2-----|-2-----|-2-----|
D|-2-----|-0-----|-0-----|-2-----|-0-----|
A|-0-----|-2-----|-0-----|-0-----|-0-----|
E|-X-----|-X-----|-2-----|-0-----|-0-----|

Here's a piece of advice. Although I know it's not the best technique, this is
how you should finger all of these chords:

   A1 A2 A3 A4 A5

e|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------|
B|-3rd---|-3rd---|-3rd---|-3rd---|-3rd---| Index = 1st
G|-2nd---|-2nd---|-2nd---|-2nd---|-2nd---| Where Middle = 2nd,
D|-1st---|-------|-------|-1st---|-------| Ring = 3rd, and
A|-------|-1st---|-------|-------|-------| Pinky = 4th finger
E|-X-----|-X-----|-1st---|-------|-------|

I know it's not technically the "correct" way of fingering them, but it allows you to
root your middle finger
on the G string throughout the entire song, and makes it possible to finger a 3 on the B
string with your
pinky finger without dramatically changing your finger position. It's much easier than
switching your
fingering every two seconds. Just be careful you aren't muting the e string with your palm.

The intro is played differently than the rest of the song. You'll only use this once,
at the very beginning.
The strumming pattern for most of the song is outlined in bars three and four, repeat it
for every similar bar.

Just sort of trail off in the last bar. Slow down and make sure those strings ring.

Cut out all the parts that held your stain,

Chorus Part 1: (Idea 1)

A1 A2 A3 A3
Sittin' clad, your feelin' wild, to blame,
She's cryin' as your climbin' down your claims,
Sittin' up, your countin' up, your name,
Seen enough, to bend him off, the frame,

Bridge Part 2: (Idea 2)

A4 A5 A3 A3
You came, you saw, you sa-awed her brain,
Cut out all the parts that held your stain,
You clipped, you clawed, to no-o applause,
You lost the will and bought the dying cause

Outro: (Idea 1)
A1 A2 A3 A3
So try to be some- body,
So try to feel some- body,
So try to be some- body,
So hard to be some- body,
(*But, You wreck it then you run, You wreck it then you run,)
So try to be some- body
So try to feel some- body
So try to leave some- body
So hard to be some- body

*Repeat the part in parenthesis every line until the end of the song (The last four lines).
