                 F
I'm fighting the feelings in my mind, trying to see it from your side.
                C
It's not what I want anymore, it's not what I want anymore
               F
I'm wating for answers I wont get, I'm making excuses I'll regret.

Am G C
Stand closer, I get nervous.

                C
It's not what I know anymore, it's not what I know anymore
                F
I'm missing the bridges that you burned, you won't make me happy like we were.

Why can't I get what's left of you?
Am G F C G Am

Am G C
Stand closer, I can't do this.
Am G C
And I'm reckless, and you're through.

- Chorus

Am G F C G Am

Why can't I get what's left of you?
Am G F C G Am

Bridge
Am E
Yeah I'm tired of being angry and I'm tired of being strong
                                                        F
And I'm tired of being treated like it's me who did you wrong
                                                     C
Like a knife into my back, can't forget that kind of hurt
                       G Am
Do you think about the past or are you memories a blur?
                                                        E
Cause it's almost been a year, I still think about that day

How I let you disappear, how you let me get away
                                                        G
No, I'll never understand the thing that you could never say, never say

Chorus

                             6. Wait For Me
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Capo 3, in D# maj. You're going to have to know some basic finger-picking to play
this song. If you really want to, you can use the flick and slap technique, which
is very nicely explained here

I feel it adds a good percussive touch, but it's not necessary. Other than that,
though, this song only has a few changes that you'll get used to quickly with a
bit of practice.

Chords used:

C F G Am E
0 1 3 0 0
1 1 3 1 0
0 2 0 2 1
2 3 0 2 2
3 3 2 0 2
x 1 3 x 0

A few more notes, there are little hammer-ons she does on C, Am, and G during the
verses. If you listen to the song they're rather prominent. All you've got to do
is unfret that specific string (for C and A it's the D string and for G it's the
A
string) and hammer back on in eighth notes. Another thing, during the verses
there's this little chromatic line that moves up a fret from the G chord to the
G#
note, then rests on Am. All you have to do is move your finger up the E string
from fret 3 to fret 4 on beats 1 and 3 before making the switch.

(Intro) C w/ hammer-ons x4

(Verse 1)
                 F C
I forgot what it felt like to feel so alive
                 F G (G#) Am
So I'm packing my suitcase and changing my mind
                   F G Am G F
I forgot what it's like to look the things you want right between the eyes
                                      G (here w/ hammer-ons)
It's never been so hard to say goodbye
                F C
I'm back to the basics and waiting for signs
                F G (G#) Am
I'm praying for patience and falling behind
     F G Am G F
It's not the way I meant to be, it's just how I'm designed
  F G C
I get so tired of running out of time

(Chorus)
C E F C
I'm missing out on all the places I could go
    F C F G (G#)
The people I could know, the nights so not alone
Am C E Am
We'll never make it and it wasn't meant to be
G F G C
But I'll wait if you’ll wait for me

(Verse 2)
                F C
I'm trying to remember your face in my hands
           F G (G#) Am
I wanted adventure, you met my demands
  F G Am G F
I told myself the day I left, “I want it but I can't”
  F G
I fell for something far away again
                  F C
I guess that it's pointless, but I mean what I say
          F G (G#) Am G F
I never expected through all this time that I could be okay
                         G Am G F
Yeah, all the things you do to me, the promise and the pain
                   G C
I wish with all my heart that I could stay

(Chorus)
C E F C
I'm missing out on all the places I could go
    F C F G (G#)
The people I could know, the nights so not alone
Am C E Am
We'll never make it and it wasn't meant to be
G F G C
But I'll wait if you’ll wait for me

(Verse Relapse into Bridge)
                 F C
I forgot what it felt like to feel so alive
                 F G (G#) Am
So I'm packing my suitcase and changing my mind
                   F G Am G F
I forgot what it's like to look the things you want right between the eyes
            C G Am F C G Am F
And say goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

(Chorus)

C E F C
I'm missing out on all the places I could go
    F C F G (G#)
The people I could know, the nights so not alone
Am C E Am
We'll never make it and it wasn't meant to be

But I'll wait if you’ll wait for me
G F G C

- Verse 1:

Cadd9 G
Summer heat soaked through the sheets and kept me up all night.
Cadd9 G
You stayed so quiet there next to me, I held myself and tried
C G
to get a grip and make some sense of the distance in between,
C Bm
the promise of a future that I ain’t ever seen.
Cadd9 G
Though taking time is wasting time, I gave you what you asked.
Cadd9 G
I held you tight for one more night, as long as you could last.
C G

G#m E Eadd9
About this empty room.
B F#
The sun is in my eyes now,
G#m E Eadd9
it’s a quarter past two.
B F#
And I’ve got my guitar,
G#m E Eadd9
and you’ve got your space,
                    B F#
so I’m stuck in this place.
                G#m F# E Eadd9
I’m stuck in this place.

- Verse 2:

B F#
I kinda don’t mind it,
G#m E Eadd9
I’m losing my mind.
B F#
Put off what’s important,
G#m F# E Eadd9
if it’ll buy me some time.
             B
Time to get braver,
            F#
time to postpone
             G#m
the evident failure
                 E
I can’t seem to disown.
                 B F#
And I’m still alone,
                 G#m F# E
yeah I’m still alone.

- Chorus:

                B F#
Will you take me home?
                G#m E
Will you take me home?
                B F#
Will you take me home?
                G#m F# E
Will you take me home?

- Verse 3:

B F#
The day is not over,
G#m E
I’m still in my bed,
B F#
‘cause sleep is the answer
       G#m F# E
to the questions that float in my head.
B F#
And I am not sober,
G#m E
and I am not well,
                   B F#
I thought you could tell.
              G#m F# E
You never could tell.

- Verse 4:

B F#
I have nothing but patience
G#m E
and nothing to lose,
B F#
‘cause you’ve given me nothing
G#m F# E
in the time that it takes you to choose.
B F#
And there’s no excuse now,
G#m E
for making mistakes.
B F#
It’s time to grow up,
G#m E
face the choices you make.
                B F#
You take and you take,
                 G#m F# E
and I’m starting to break.

- Chorus:

            B F#
but I’ll be okay,
        G#m E
I’ll be okay,
        B F#
I’ll be okay,
        G#m E
I’ll be okay,
        B F#
I’ll be okay,
        G#m E
I’ll be okay,
        B F#
I’ll be okay,
        G#m E
I’ll be okay,

        B F#
I’ll be okay,
        G#m E
I’ll be okay,
        B F#
I’ll be okay,
        G#m E
I’ll be okay,
