Rose by John Hiatt Rose Tuning:D A D G B E Key:E Capo:2nd fret The intro/verse pattern is close to the correct pattern of the rythm guitar in the original; the chorus is almost entirely made up, since its hard to tell whats going on with multiple instruments joining in, but I tried to keep the feel similar to the original. The fill between the first and second verses is a lyrical "doot doot" with the normal D pattern, but I've included an instrumental fill I like to use instead; I also add it before the final verse. All notes and descriptions relative to capo on second fret. => indicates that the pattern should be continued for fill until the next chord Intro/verse pattern: Each line starts with the hammer-on D Rose puts on her stockings and she lights a cigarette ... e|-0h2-----------0--------------|-0----------------0----------| B|-----------3------3-------3---|-----3-------3--------3------| G|-------2--------------2-------|---------2----------------2--| D|-----0-------0------0-------0-|-------0------------0-------0| A|---------0--------------0-----|-----------0------------0----| D|-0---------------0------------|---0------------0------------| [Chorus] G - thumb on 5th fret 1st string (because of drop D tuning) and index on 3rd fret 5th and 6th strings; slide thumb down to 4th for f# The hammer-on should be a natural part of switching C to D G G/F# She finds her dressing table....
