Lemme explain: The album version of this song relies on open C, F, and Am chords. The result, at least in my opinion, sounds weirdly happy for such a sad song. When Callahan plays it, however, he slides up and down a uke, not caring much for intonation on account of his paralysis. I like this version a lot better, I think it's way more emotionally effective. That said, I still wanted a sadder version of the cleaner album cut. So, I reharmonized it. I didn't change much. C is now Cadd9, and I added a G7. I think it's important that this song is relatively easy to play. Here it is: [Verse] Cadd9 F Broken veins and broken needles, Cadd9 F Cadd9 I'm too tired to make a fist.
