* is a strum, to give some idea of timing in the verses

small case letters are individual notes, (not chords)

h is a hammer on

p is a pull off

(C)D, (C)Em, etc. means strum the C real quick, then change *immediately*
to the next chord...sometimes she misses out the C entirely

in the intro & outro, emphasise the low notes in the D (=?D5 (xx023x))

version 5

Tuning:E A D G B E
Capo:no capo

When she plays live she downtunes her guitar 1 whole step (D G C F A D)
I believe the live version where she plays with her band it is a half step (Eb Ab
 Db Gb Bb Eb)

Sometimes instead of playing F to C Joan plays a C chord but
hammers on and off on the 3rd fret 4th string with her pinky instead (i.e. 3rd
line of the Verses)

Most of the F chords are played in open postion
except Joan plays an F bar chord in the Chorus and occasionally Fmaj7(#11)
which is an F bar chord with the top B and E strings open.
She hits the open bottom E string first before playing this chord.

  Fmaj7(#11)
e|----0----|
B|----0----|
G|----2----|
D|----3----|
A|----3----|
E|----1----|

To play with the correct feel there are some 'passing chords' - mainly F and
sometimes G.

F G F G
You'll know heartache Still more crying
            Am C G
When you're thinking of your mother's only son
F G F G
Take to your bed You say there's peace in sleep
    Am C G
But you'll dream of love instead
F Am
Oh the heartache you'll find
Am C G
Can bring more pain than a blistering sun
Am G C Am G C
But oh when you fall Oh when you fall
F Fmaj7 F G C
Fall at my door
