K.G.L.W. by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard K.G.L.W. Tuning: E A D G B E The opening track off the album K.G. This song is played on microtonal instruments. I tabbed this out on a 24 TET guitar fretted the same way that King Gizz fret theirs. The actual song uses a microtonal acoustic but I don't have one so I used my electric. There will be microtonal notes in this tab which will be written in brackets e.g. (X.5). For example, the fret halfway between the first and second frets would be written as (1.5) on the tab. I tabbed this in the Flying Microtonal Banana tuning as I assume that's what they used for this song too. It's C#, F#, C#, F#, B, e. This song could be played on a regular guitar by using quarter step bends where appropriate. It shouldn't be to hard as the song is quite slow. Enjoy! The tabs for the intro section of K.G.L.W. by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard on the bağlama, a stringed microtonal Turkish instrument, and in fact the instrument this piece was originally composed for. It's made up of seven strings grouped in three courses, 2-2-3 from top to bottom, and the tuning I used (of which there are multiple) was B-A-E respectively. I've chosen to count the microtonal frets on the instrument as .5 measures in my notation for the sake of convenience and consistency. Now, there are multiple ways to play this on the bağlama. However, this comes off as rather stiff (in my humble opinion), and is like a beginner's version of a more complex piece. Using a technique in şelpe, this piece can sound much more nuanced. First, seeing as B is a note that gets repeated at regular intervals, one must place their left index finger on the 2nd fret of the middle string to have that as a base.
