Ataraxia by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

                                            Ataraxia

Tuning: E A D G B E
Capo: 1st fret

This song is played on microtonal instruments. I tabbed this out on a 24 TET guitar fretted the same way that
King Gizz fret theirs. There will be microtonal notes in this tab which will be written in brackets
e.g. (X.5).
For example, the fret halfway between the first and second frets would be written as (1.5) on the tab.

The tuning for this song is the 'Flying Microtonal Banana' tuning, C#, F#, C#, F#, B, e.

There is a capo on the 1st fret which is how Gizz play the song live and presumably in the studio too.

[Intro]

This first time through, I'm not sure if they play the 5th fret on the C# so I've labelled it as a ghost note.

From now on you can clearly hear that fifth fret, and after a few repeats, another guitar comes in playing
the same riff but with more distortion and wah.

After two repeats, the more distorted guitar joins in.

[Chorus/Outro]

Same riff plays when the vocals come back in and I think it repeats about 10 times, with maybe some subtle
variations.

Take no position on good or bad
Much watched is the doing so fuck the tarot's read
The life I lead, it has a taste
Like milk drank from the teat, curdles at a certain age
Get with ataraxia, force it into being
Suck face, ataraxia, lower the ceiling
What if I amount to nothing at all?
Inside, it hits me up, I care too much about what I think
Shame the mirrors that stretch my hips
Mute the hypochondria that whispers spoilers in my ears
I'm not a father yet, so don't ask again
Salt the snail and teach it to obtain
Lay in, ataraxia, set the kindling
Weigh in, ataraxia, absolve me of my skin
Shame him, name him, cut me down to size
Inside, it hits me up, I care too much about what I think
Get with ataraxia, force it into being
Suck face, ataraxia, lower the ceiling
What if I amount to nothing at all?
Inside, it hits me up, I care too much about what I think
Ataraxia
