Verse 1:
The light was leavin' in the west it was blue.
The children's laughter sang, skipping just like the stones they threw.
Their voices echoed across the waves.

Verse 2:
The west winds often last too long,
and when they calm down nothing ever seems the same.
Sheltered under the Kamani tree, waiting for the passing rain.
Clouds keep moving to uncover the sea
of stars above us chasing the day away
to find the stories that we sometimes need.

We drew our own constellations.

The light was leaving and the west it was blue
The children's laughter saying they're skipping just like the stones they threw
The voices echoed across the ways, it's getting late
It was just another night with the sunset and
The moon rise not so far behind
To give us just enough light
To lay down underneath the stars listening to
Papa's translations of the stories across the sky, we drew our own constellations
The west winds often last too long
But when they come down nothing ever feels the same
Sheltered under the Kamani tree waiting for the passing rain
Clouds keep moving to uncover the sea
Stars above us chasing the day away
To find the stories that we sometimes need
Listen close enough all else fades
Fades away
It was just another night with the sunset and
The moon rise not so far behind
To give us just enough light
To lay down underneath the stars listening to
All the translations of the stories across the sky to do our own constellations

CAPO 1ST FRET. Capo = 0 fret. Standard tuning.

|------------------------------------------------------------------|

To me it wasnt clear how to play the verse so I figured it out.
First verse, play G chord like this - use your pinky when going to 5th fret
and your ring finger to move to 3rd and 2nd fret (it's a bit weird but it works).
I think Jack plays it in different tuning but in standard tuning like this sounds good to me.
 G
DU DU DU DU D UDU
|33---55--33--22--3---000---|

and then "The children's laughter sang"

     C C with pinky on 4th fret

    G - Fmaj - C - D
|---3----0-----0----2----|
|---0----1-----1----3----|
|---0----2-----0----2----|
|---0----3-----2----0----|
|---2----x-----3----x----|
|---3----x-----0----x----|

Struming is DU DU. The second DU is stronger than the first one.

In the end play the Intro again

So this is how I play the verse. Dont have the solo.

The light was leaving and the west it was blue
The children's laughter saying they're skipping just like the stones they threw

[Interlude]
|For this part, use your pointer finger on 3rd string and pinkie on first string. Then when you slide down to
|the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fret, place your pointer finger on 2nd string, 1st fret. Your middle finger on 3rd

|For This part, stay with me because I'm going to try to be thorough. Place your pointer finger 2nd string,3rd
|fret. Your middle finger on 3rd string 4th fret. And your ring finger 1st string, 5th fret. But when you
|hammer onto the 3rd string, 4th fret, use your ring finger because it will be helpful when you slide up to
|the 7th fret. This puts you ring finger on 3rd string, 7th fret and your pointer finger 1st string, 5th fret.
|Now, when the 1st string is plucked on the 5th fret, place your pinkie on the 1st string, 7th fret in order
|to play this part swiftly. Once you slide the the 3rd string from the 7th fret to the 9th fret, bring your
|pinkie finger back onto the 1st string, 9th fret and complete the pull-off. Also have your middle finger on
|the 2nd string, 8th fret. But when it goes from the 8th to the 10th fret, use your pinkie finger on the 10th
|fret. Now, when you slide down to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th fret, place your rign finger on the 3rd string, 4th
|fret, and your middle finger on the 2nd string, 3rd fret. Have your pointer finger on the 1st string, 2nd
|fret, and your pinkie will be used for the 1st string, 5th fret. And finally, for this last part, after you
|play "0" on the 6th string, "2" on the 1st string, "3" on the 2nd string, and "4" on the 3rd string, bring
|bring your middle finger on the 4th string, 4th fret, and your ring finger on the 1st string, 4th fret. Then
|use your middle finger to play the 1st string on the 5th fret.|

The light was leaving and the west it was blue
The children's laughter saying they're skipping just like the stones they threw
The voices echoed across the ways, it's getting late
It was just another night with the sunset and
The moon rise not so far behind
To give us just enough light
To lay down underneath the stars listening to
Papa's translations of the stories across the sky, we drew our own constellations
The west winds often last too long
But when they come down nothing ever feels the same
Sheltered under the Kamani tree waiting for the passing rain
Clouds keep moving to uncover the sea
Stars above us chasing the day away
To find the stories that we sometimes need
Listen close enough all else fades
Fades away
It was just another night with the sunset and
The moon rise not so far behind
To give us just enough light
To lay down underneath the stars listening to
All the translations of the stories across the sky to do our own constellations
