Me And You And A Dog Named Boo by Lobo

Me And You And A Dog Named Boo

Capo: 4th fret

  C C7 F G C
I remember to this day, the bright red Georga clay.

                                            G
And how it stuck to the tires, after the summer rain.

     C G
Will power made that old car go,

  C7 F C
a womans mind told me so. Oh how I wish we were

Bb F G F G
back on the road again.

Chorus...
     F G C F G C
Me and you and a dog named Boo, travelin and livin off the land.

     F G C F G C
Me and you and a dog named Boo, Oh how I love being a free man.

C C7 F G C
I can still recall, the wheat fields of St. Paul.

                                                   G
And the morning we got caught, robbing from an old hen.

      C
Old McDonald made us work,

    C7 F G C
but then he paid us for what it was worth. Another tank of gas and,

Bb F G F G
back on the road again.

(Chorus)

    C C7 F G C
I'l never forget that day, we motored stately into big L.A.

                                                   G
The lights of the city put settlin down, in my brain.

            C C7 F G C
Though it's only been a month or so, that old car's buggin us to go.

                              Bb F G F G
We've gotta get away and get back on the road again.

(Chorus)(2 times)

I remember to this day
The bright red Georgia clay
And how it stuck to the tires
After the summer rain
Will power made that old car go
A woman's mind told me that so
Oh how I wish
We were back on the road again
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo
How I love being a free man
Now I can still recall
The wheat fields of St. Paul
And the morning we got caught
Robbing from an old hen
Old McDonald, he made us work
But then he paid us for what it was worth
Another tank of gas and
Back on the road again
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo
How I love being a free man
Now I'll never forget the day
We motored stately into big L.A.
The lights of the city put settlin' down in my brain
Though it's only been a month or so
That old car's buggin' us to go
We've gotta get away and get back on the road again
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo
How I love being a free man
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo
How I love being a free man
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo ...

Capo: 4th fret

A great song from 1971, fairly simple to play but the funky little interchange
around the 'D' chord gives it that extra bit of interest.

The pattern for each 'D' incorporates Dsus4 and Dsus2 as follows:
Downward stroke = D Upward stroke = U The '-' signifies a pause (8 beats to the
bar or chord sequence, which ever you prefer)

stroke D U D U - U D -
chord D D D Dsus4 - D Dsus2 -
      e|-2-2-2-3-------2-0------------|
      B|-3-3-3-3-------3-3------------|
      G|-2-2-2-2-------2-2------------|
      D|-0-0-0-0-------0-0------------|
      A|------------------------------|
      E|------------------------------|

Repeat this pattern for every 'D' chord in the song. I've written out the pattern
for the first line of the intro. After that, you're on your own!

D U D U - U D - D U D U - U D -
D / / Dsus4 – D Dsus2 - D / / Dsus4 – D Dsus2 – (repeat for every ‘D’)

I remember to this day
The bright red Georgia clay
And how it stuck to the tires
After the summer rain
Will power made that old car go
A woman's mind told me that so
Oh how I wish
We were back on the road again
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo
How I love being a free man
Now I can still recall
The wheat fields of St. Paul
And the morning we got caught
Robbing from an old hen
Old McDonald, he made us work
But then he paid us for what it was worth
Another tank of gas and
Back on the road again
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo
How I love being a free man
Now I'll never forget the day
We motored stately into big L.A.
The lights of the city put settlin' down in my brain
Though it's only been a month or so
That old car's buggin' us to go
We've gotta get away and get back on the road again
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo
How I love being a free man
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo
How I love being a free man
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo ...
