[Intro]
C D A G
C D A G
C D A G
C D A G

[Verse 1]
    C D A G
And when I asked for a
C D A G
separate room It was
C D A G
late at night, and we'd been
C D A G
driving since noon But
C D A G
if I'd known how that would
C D A G
sound to you I would have
C D A G
stayed in your bed for the
C D A G
rest of my life Just to prove I was right That it's
C D A G
harder to be friends than lovers And you
C D A G
shouldn't try to mix the two 'Cause if you
C D A G
do it and you're still unhappy Then you
C D A G
know that the problem is you

[Verse 2]
         C D A G
And it's true that I stole your lighter And it's
C D A G
also true that I lost the map But when you
C D A G
said that I wasn't worth talking to, I
C D A G
had to take your word on that. But
C D A G
if you'd known how that would
C D A G
sound to me You would have
C D A G
taken it back

[Chorus]
F C G Gb/G
boxed it up and buried it in the ground
F C G Gb/G
Boxed it up and buried it in the ground
F C G Gb/G
Boxed it up and buried it in the ground
F C G Gb/G
Burned it up and thrown it away.

[Verse 3]
C D A G
You put in my hands a loaded gun
C D A G
And then told me not to fire it
C D A G
When you did the things you said were up to
C D A G
me And then accused me of trying to fuck it up

[Chorus]
    F C G Gb/G
But you've never been a waste of my time
F C G Gb/G
It's never been a drag
   F C G Gb/G
So take a deep breath and count back from ten
    F C G Gb/G
And maybe you'll be alright

[Verse 4]
C D A G
And the license said you had to stick around
C D A G
until I was dead
C D A G
But if you're tired of looking at my face,
C D A G
I guess I already am

[Chorus]
    F C G Gb/G
But you've never been a waste of my time
F C G Gb/G
It's never been a drag
   F C G Gb/G
So take a deep breath and count back from ten
    F C G Gb/G
And maybe you'll be alright

[Outro]
G F C G
G F C G
G F G

version 2

the main theme is just variations of these crds (i think). the B is the
one that sounds a little funny. like usual, liz only plays 2 or 3 notes
are
for each crd.
i might be some notes in between the chords

        C# Ab B Ab
e----------------------------4--|
B---------6------------------4--|
G-----------6----5---2-----5----| or some variation thereof. i can't
D-------6--------6---2-----6----| remember if the third crd is a B or a C.
A-------4----------------6------| it might be played on the 3rd fret instead
E------------------------4------| of the 2nd.

C# = A shape barre crd at 4th fret
Ab = E shape barre crd at 4th fret
B  = A shape barre crd at 2nd fret (maybe 3rd?)

this theme is played thru all the verses.

for the chorus part...(i don't remember if the 1st crd is F# or F#m)

        F#(m?) C# G Ab G Ab
boxed it up and buried it in the ground... (3x)

e--------------------------------------------------------|
B--------------------------------------------------------|
G-----------------------6--------------------------------|
D-------4--strum-a------6--6-----------------------------|
A-------4--couple----------4--0---5/6--6--66--5/6--6--6--|
E-------2--times--------------0---3/4--4--44--3/4--4--4--|
                                   *      **

        F#(m?) C# G Ab G Ab
burned it up and thrown it away...

* = slide up a fret
**= pick down then up really fast

and for the harmonica break at the end, the crds are just
F#(m?) Ab C# or some combination of crds used above.
