The chords should be played with a slight palm-mute if you want it to sound like the album and can be played
either as regular chords or power chords (I prefer power chords, since it sounds more like the original).
This is the strumming pattern that I use when palm-muting the chords (The letters in parenthesis represent
lighter strokes. The pattern lasts for two bars of 4/4 before it repeats):
