sometimes it's muted or just flat out not strummed,
you just have to listen closly.
The strumming pattern I've provided is not definite, as it

During the instrumental, he uses his pinky finger to hammer
on the D string on the same fret that you would have it on the
G string of whichever chord is playing . So for Cmaj7 you
want to hammer on the 4th fret D string, etc.
