Bill Jocko by Mark Mulcahy

               Bill Jocko

Intro: F# G F# G (Why do I have to stay here?)

Verse intro: F# Bm F# Bm

F# Bm F# Bm
Down came Bill Jocko
    F# Bm F# Bm
From the heart of Hooterville
     F# Bm F# Bm
Take down your Christmas tree
       F# Bm F# Bm
But I know that you never will
       F# Bm F# Bm
Riding lover was his lady,
      F# Bm F# Bm
And she did not know his mind
     F# Bm F#
When Billy took the Datsun
   Bm F# Bm F#
To the top for the last time
  Bm F#
And that’s when they were

Bridge:

F G F G
Drunk on wine coolers
F G F G F# F# F#F#
That they stole from her mother
F G F G
Drunk on the Summer
F G F G F# F# F#F#
And drunk on each other

Verse 2:

                  F# Bm F# Bm
You better take a right at the graveyard
      F# Bm F# Bm
And a left over at the ghetto
       F# Bm F# Bm
Climb up to where it’s dark
      F# Bm F# Bm
And gonna take all of our clothes off
F# Bm F# Bm
Lucinda had her head down,
F# Bm F# Bm
Braiding her hair so she could not see,
  F# Bm F# Bm
That William had his eyes closed,
 F# Bm F# Bm
Headin’ straight for a tree,
     F#
And that’s when they were

Bridge:

F G F G
Drunk on wine coolers
F G F G F# F# F#F#
That they stole from her mother
F G F G
Drunk on the Summer
F G F G F# F# F#F#
And drunk on each other
F#
One, or two, or three hundred feet down to the ground
F# G
Let’s do it now when there ain't no park ranger hangin' ‘round

Repeat Verse and Bridge

Outro: F# G F# G

Note: Just get the rhythm down for the F# and Bm verse changes and you'll figure it out.
The verse chords are easy, but you can play an even easier alt voicing Mulcahy uses.
Instead of
barre chords, he uses F# x2344x and Bm 2344xx. It sounds more like the album version and
it's pretty easy to
shift back and forth.

Everything else is barre chords however (the intro, bridge, outro etc).
