Bakersfield by Social Distortion Bakersfield Tuning: EADGBE (CAPO ON 1st Fret) They usually tune down a 1/2 step and capo the 2nd Either works. Most of their stuff uses a Capo and instead of tuning up, I think he gets the volute on the early 70's Les Pauls by using the Capo. frets numbered relative to CAPO INTRO e|---0-----------------3-3-------------------2-2--------------------------| B|---3/5--3------------3-3---------3-----3---3-3--------------------------| G|-----------2/4-2p0---0-0-----2/4---2/4-----2-2--------------------------| D|---------------------0-0-------------------0-0--------------------------| A|---------------------X-X------------------------------------------------| E|---------------------3-3------------------------------------------------| e|---0-----------------3-3-------------------2-2-------------------3-3------| B|---3/5--3------------3-3---------3-----3---3-3-------------------3-3------| G|-----------2/4 2p0---0-0-----2/4---2/4-----2-2-------------------0-0------| D|---------------------0-0-------------------0-0-----0h2-0------0--0-0------| A|---------------------X-X----------------------------------0h2----X-X------| E|---------------------3-3-----------------------------------------3-3------| e|------------2-2------0-----------------2-2--------------------2-2-------| B|------------3-3------3/5--3------------2-2--------0-------0---3-3-------| G|------------2-2--------------2/4-2p0---0-0----2/4-----2/4-----2-2-------| D|-----0------0-0------------------------0-0--------------------0-0-------| A|-0h2---2p0-----------------------------X-X------------------------------| E|---------------------------------------3-3------------------------------| e|--0-----------------3-3-------------------------------------------------| B|--3/5--3------------3-3-------------------------------------------------| G|----------2/4-2p0---0-0-------------------------------------------------| D|--------------------0-0-------------------------------------------------| A|--------------------X-X-------------------------------------------------| E|--------------------3-3-------------------------------------------------| VERSE e|--3--------3-2-2---0--------------------3-3----| B|--3--------3-3-3---3/5--3---------------3-3----| G|--0--------0-2-2-----------2/4-2p0------0-0----| D|--0--------0-0-0------------------------0-0----| A|--X--------X----------------------------X-X----| E|--3--------3----------------------------3-3----| VERSE fill e|---X/7-7-7-7-5-7-7--7---------------------------------------------------| B|---X/8-8-8-8-7-8-8--8---------------------------------------------------| G|--------------------0---------------------------------------------------| D|--------------------0---------------------------------------------------| A|------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|------------------------------------------------------------------------| CHORUS (listen to song for pattern) e|----3---2-------3--2-------------------------------------------------------| B|----3---3---5---3--3-------------------------------------------------------| G|----0---2---5---0--2-------------------------------------------------------| D|----0---0---5---0--0-------------------------------------------------------| A|----X-------3---X----------------------------------------------------------| E|----3-----------3----------------------------------------------------------| Take me down that line Gonna tow that heavy load I can't seem to make it Make it on my own Turn the lights down low now Turn down our bed I can't seem to get you Out of my head Stranded here in Bakersfield So close, yet so far, far away Stranded here in Bakersfield You're a million miles away, yea, yea I feel the heat coming down now Sweat runs down my face I can hardly fake it, girl Fake it thru this day Was it something that I said?
