The lyrics are my best guess as to what is actually being sung, and the tabs are my closest interpretation of the actual song. I'm by no means an advanced or professional uke player, so if there are any errors, or if you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know :) This song may seem daunting to the beginner uke player, so I'll write a little explanation of it. First, it sounds like slash chords are used in the song, so I've indicated in both numerical notation and in the tabs how to play those chords (simply put, slash chords are a combination of two chords). I also recommend this strumming pattern: chuck pause up chuck up p/h pause One and Two and Three and Four In the last "and," you're pulling-off or hammering-on from the current chord into the next chord, which serves as a transition between chords. (A quick Google search can explain chucking, hammer-ons, and pull-offs). For example, this is how the song would start if played just by strumming: Chuck G, pause, strum up G, Chuck G, strum up G, press Am/C without strumming, pause Chuck Am/C, pause, strum up Am/C, Chuck Am/C, strum up Am/C, press F/C without strumming, pause, Chuck F/C, pause, strum up F/C, Chuck F/C, strum up F/C, press C without strumming, pause, etc, etc... The tabs basically transcribe the strumming pattern I just described, but also include a little finger-picking. The Verse/Chorus Tab contains one more chuck than the Intro Tab but are otherwise identical. In the Intro Tab, the very first chuck is more of a slow muted strut. After playing the Intro Tab, you continue playing the rest of the song using the Verse/Chorus Tab. If it's too difficult to follow, you can also play the song with just the strumming/chucking pattern mentioned above, or any other strumming pattern that you think is fitting. I've labeled the chords on the tabs to make it easier to see where they line up with the lyrics. The chucks create a percussion type of effect and establish a rhythm or beat to the music. If you notice in the Verse/Chorus Tab, chucks are spaced out evenly and are played at an equal rate of time. In the lyrics, both chords and dashes represent the location of a chuck or beat, and should help in providing a sense of timing (for example, the farther apart the chords and dashes are, the faster that segment of lyrics are sung, and vice versa). The song is sung with both a lead vocal and backing vocals, so I've written in parentheses the parts of the lyrics which are sung by the backing vocalist(s). It's not impossible to sing the song without separate vocals, but you'll have to get a little creative because there are places where the lead and backing vocals are really close together or even overlap. I've placed asterisks (*) in front of lyrics that start a little before the previous line ends. When you listen to the song, you'll notice that the lyrics in Pre-Chorus 2, along with other parts of the song, are sung in a stylized manner where the lead vocals are slightly modified, shifted, and/or spread out and overlap with the backing vocals. I didn't feel that it was necessary to transcribe those stylizations, so I've kept the tabs very plain. Also, there exist other minor overlaps in the lyrics which I feel are too small to be worth transcribing. I'll leave the stylization up to you :) I hope this hasn't been confusing, or has made it more difficult than it should. If anything, just listen to the song while reading this tab, and it should be easier ------------
