Digging My Own Grave by Thrice Digging My Own Grave unusual chords (low to high) Am/F# 4xx210 Fmaj7 x33210 or to preserve the bass note, 1x3210 Dsus2/F# 2x023x (might actually be 2x0232) Am Am/F# Fmaj7 E It's not what you think, just one more little bet, Fmaj7 Em Fmaj7 E Just another cigarette, just one more drink. Am Am/F# Fmaj7 E So lend me just a little more, you know cancer can't catch me. Fmaj7 Em F * G Let's have another drink or three. Don't be a bore. *right after "bore" it goes from the F to the G like this: low E|--1--2--3--| Dm E Am G (?) But oh, don't I know, I'm just digging my own grave, Dm E Am Can someone else please save myself from me? Dm E Am G Dsus2/F# (?) And Lord, don't I know, I'm just digging my own grave, F E Can someone save myself from me? Am Am/F# Fmaj7 E I look but don't touch, It's really no big deal. Fmaj7 Em Fmaj7 E I'll quit it when I feel I've seen enough. Am Am/F# Fmaj7 E Oh don't call it an affair, it's just a little fling. Fmaj7 Em F (w/ lead-in from before) G She doesn't mean a thing to me I swear. Dm E Am G (?) But oh, don't I know, I'm just digging my own grave, Dm E Am Can someone else please save myself from me? Dm E Am G Dsus2/F# (?) And Lord, don't I know, I'm just digging my own grave, F E Can someone save myself from me? I'm pretty sure the ending is just an Am. --------------- version 2 The second chord in the verse that everyone was debating is an E7 (0201000). The end of the chorus where people were debating if it was a G or a C- its neither. Its Fmaj7 just use your thumb to hit the base note (1x33210) and leave the high e open. Listen to the base note walk down from A to G to F and you™ll hear it. Walk the base line down from the A by adding in the am7/G in between those chords like this: Am Am7/G Fmaj7 ---0----0----0----| ---1----1----1----| ---2----0----2----| ---2----2----3----| ---0----0----x----| ---x----3----1----| A lot of the E™s can be substituted for E7 and vice versa, depending on the piano runs. Hope this helps. Am E7 Fmaj7 E It's not what you think, just one more little bet, Fmaj7 Em Fmaj7 E Just another cigarette, just one more drink.
